Since our beginning in 1980, SBIC membership has been open to both organizations and individuals. SBIC's members still include many of the original founding organizations and manufacturers, as well as associations and nonprofits, design professionals, home builders, utilities, consultants, product and material manufacturers and suppliers, universities, academics, students, and many other practicing professionals and interested individuals.
As a member, you can interact with other SBIC members, promote your business, or team up with us to develop new products and services that promote sustainable, high-performance buildings.
SBIC relies on its membership to fulfill its mission, we incorporate your expertise and advice in the development of SBIC workshops, training sessions and publications like our Green Building Guidelines and High-Performance Schools guide. We also partner with our members to fulfill contracts or grant awards.
Our white papers are designed to provide timely and unbiased sources of information for a wide variety of audiences, SBIC white papers are written through the lens of the “whole building” approach to design, construction and operations.
Hosting your audio or video content on the SBIC website educates people on the importance of high-performance buildings, while promoting your organization’s sustainability efforts.
Listing your news or event on the SBIC website can help your organization spread the word and get attention for your work. News and upcoming events will also be listed on SBIC’s growing social media sites.
The best way to support the Council's mission is to become one of our members! There are three ways to join:
